Junior Kindergarten Program

Junior Kindergarten Program

The Junior KIndergarten program is designed for students who are turning age 4 by the end of the calendar year and have ideally completed one full year of our Preschool program. This class continues to build on the Montessori foundational skills learned in Preschool and/or the Wee program and focuses on reading, writing and math skills in preparation for Kindergarten, helping to develop self-confidence as learners. This program offers students a language-rich environment that fosters learning through outdoor play and hands-on experiences. Outdoor play is a crucial aspect of a child's physical and emotional growth and is, therefore, an integral part of our daily routine. Students also receive weekly lessons in Mandarin, French and Music. Additionally, Junior Kindergarten students are exposed to more structured units of study that require planning and collaborative work with their peers, including literature, scientific exploration, field trips, art, and cooking projects.
